Stagecoach Inns
In the 1700’s, when stagecoaches were a popular means of travel, stagecoach inns were vital in giving customers rest and rejuvenation. Food was often simple–oatcakes, onions, cheese, potted char, anchovy sauce, moulded jelly puddings–some of which, quite frankly, does not sound appetizing in any century.
